Community Sculpture Public Art Project

In 2019, the Bloomington, Minnesota community came together for a fun outdoor art event hosted by the City of Bloomington’s Creative Placemaking Commission that took place at Bloomington Central Station Park in South Loop. There was live music, food trucks and creative projects anyone could participate in. I was asked to lead a wonderful project where community members were invited to paint a wood block that when combined would be part of a sculpture that reflects the individuality yet collective creativity of the Bloomington community. I chose a black and white theme and invited everyone to paint anything they wanted to while keeping with that color theme. It was such a fun experience! The sculpture was installed in the Bloomington Center for the Arts.
