Pour Me a Cup of Warm Soft Light

by Emma Freeman

Pour me a cup of warm, soft light

let it slide radiantly down

my parched throat

finding its way into my dark tunnels

a luminous landslide of ancient honey

sinking slowly down my inner walls

Inside those illuminated rooms

let the words drink the light

filling their bodies full to the brim

like sacred fireflies

Let me feel them dance and float

on the passing waves of air

moving through me

up up up

and

out out out

into the space between us…
