Nature Drawings
(2017-2019)
Drawing nature taught me about presence in a new way and gave me a healthy outlet for my intense anxiety and difficult emotions I was working through at the time. I was obsessed with doodling in my sketchbook and found that the plants and animals I drew ended up having this whimsical, playful quality to them. They always seemed different than the anxiety, fear, worry and sadness I was feeling when I was drew them and that was an incredible gift to witness, how beauty could emerge from difficulty. Drawing like this gave me a sense of peace and anchoring in the first years of my healing journey and spiritual awakening, which I will always be grateful for.
